Technical Services Manager - Architecture Background \n Location: St. Albans\n Sectors: Education, Rail, Health, Local Authority, Building & Construction\n Start Date: Immediate\n Contract Type: Fixed Term (18 months)\n Salary: Dependent on Experience\n\nWe are seeking an experienced Technical Services Manager to join a well established building and construction company on an 18-month fixed-term contract. This role will focus on ensuring technical compliance and build-ability of M&E systems from design development through to handover.\n\nKey Responsibilities of the Technical Services Manager - Architecture Background:\n\nOversee the coordination and technical delivery of mechanical and electrical (M&E) services from RIBA Stage 3 onward\n\nIdentify, flag, and resolve M&E design flaws or coordination issues early in the project life cycle\n\nReview and manage technical drawings, design outputs, and subcontractor submissions to ensure compliance with performance, regulatory, and client requirements\n\nCollaborate closely with consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth technical integration across disciplines\n\nEnsure timely resolution of design-related issues during construction, including support with on-site technical challenges\n\nMonitor quality of M&E installations on site and verify alignment with approved design\n\nLead the technical input into commissioning, handover, and post-completion reviews\n\nMaintain technical documentation, design trackers, issue logs, and risk registers\n\nContribute to value engineering discussions while safeguarding technical standards and compliance\n\nAbout You:\n\nProven experience as a Technical Services Manager or in a similar M&E coordination role within the construction industry\n\nStrong understanding of M&E systems, design standards, and regulatory requirements\n\nDemonstrable ability to identify and address design flaws before and during construction\n\nExperience working from RIBA Stage 3 through to post-PC\n\nProject background in public sector construction is highly desirable (e.g., education, health-care, or infrastructure)\n\nEffective communicator with strong technical judgement and coordination skills#\n\nIf you think the Technical Services Manager - Architecture Background role might be of interest to you and would like to hear more, contact Ollie at (phone number removed)
