Seeking a Technical Service Representative for a direct hire opportunity with our client in the Indianapolis, IN area. Our Client is a leading manufacturer specializing in high-performance paints, primers, and clearcoats tailored for the automotive, power sports, and industrial sectors. The Technical Service Representative is responsible for supporting customer needs, collecting customer usage and forecasting data, and developing/maintaining relationships with key customer contacts to promote/sell coatings products, services, and technologies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build good relationships with key customer contacts.
- Conduct and communicate day-to-day operations and projects at assigned account(s).
- With supervisory input, effectively communicate problems, issues, and concerns to the Lab Team, QA, and production personnel.
- With supervisory and Lab Team input develop customer application line correlation.
- Monitor and track , inventory, usage rates, on-line performance, and appearance on-line at customer site(s).
- Communicate adjustments completed on batches and samples to the appropriate Lab Team personnel.
- With supervisory input, analyze process problems and use of problem-solving skills to determine the root cause and implement preventative action.
- Assume project support role to communicate problems to the Lab Team.
- With supervisory input, coordinate project work, develop schedules, and facilitate internal team meetings.
Job Requirements
- 3-5 yrs. previous coatings experience.
- Previous customer exposure.
- matching skills.
- Coatings application experience.
- Thorough knowledge of USP manufacturing process and paperwork flow.
- Project Management experience.
- Negotiating skills.
- Haz-Mat training.
- Be able to travel by air.
- The ability to communicate orally with customers, vendors, management, and other co-workers is crucial.
- Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential.
- Hearing and vision within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents.
- Must be able to position self to maintain and operate equipment.
- Heavy lifting is expected; exertion of up to 80 lbs. of force required.
- Good manual dexterity for the use of equipment.
- Ability to regularly squat and return to standing without assistance.
- Ability to regularly ascend and descend stairs.
Other Details:
Schedule: Monday-Friday, First 3 months onsite. then fully remote going to customers as needed.
Location: Indianapolis, IN Area
Travel: 40 - 60%
