A leading precision manufacturer in the AV, production, and staging sectors is seeking a Technical Sales Specialist to join their growing team. This is a full-time, onsite role that plays a vital part in the bridge between sales and production - supporting customer engagements, translating technical specifications, and enabling the seamless execution of custom-manufactured projects. The company has built a reputation for high-quality, custom-engineered products and is deeply integrated into live events, entertainment, and touring industries. This role offers a dynamic and fast-paced environment, ideal for someone with both technical acumen and strong commercial instincts.
The Role:
As Technical Sales Specialist, you'll be responsible for supporting the front-end sales process by interpreting technical requirements, producing precise cost estimates, and managing project information across internal systems. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering, production, and shipping teams to ensure quotes align with manufacturing capabilities and timelines. Reporting to the Operations Manager (or equivalent), your success in this role will hinge on your ability to blend technical understanding with effective communication and meticulous execution.
Responsibilities:

Interpret client specifications—written, verbal, or technical drawings and translate them into structured product quotes.

Produce accurate quotes based on materials, labour, engineering constraints, and BOMs.

Configure assemblies and components in the ERP system to reflect up-to-date capabilities and pricing.

Act as the main technical liaison for clients, managing change requests, clarifications, and quote follow-ups.

Collaborate with production teams to align quoting expectations with manufacturing timelines and resources.

Manage technical documentation, including job packets, instructions, and shipping details.

Support logistics and freight quoting, ensuring seamless alignment between customer needs and shipping realities.
Requirements:

2+ years in a technical sales, quoting, or estimating role within a manufacturing or engineering setting.

Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings (SolidWorks or similar).

Experience working with ERP systems (FULCRUM is a strong plus).

High proficiency with Excel, particularly in costing and nested BOMs.

Solid understanding of manufacturing workflows, tolerances, and materials.

Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Must be comfortable operating in a production-integrated environment and managing competing priorities.
Nice to Have:

Background in custom fabrication or project-based manufacturing.

Experience building or managing cost/pricing templates for configurable products.
Salary:
$90,000 - $105,000, commensurate with experience.
Location:
Phoenix, Arizona Onsite; must be based near the company’s manufacturing facility
