Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5.30 pm
My client is seeking a Technical Project Specialist to join their growing team. This role would suit someone with strong technical knowledge and practical experience – ideally within AV, cabling or networking, and preferably gained in an event or installation setting. It’s a great opportunity for someone who enjoys the technical side of projects but is looking to step away from long event hours into a more structured Monday–Friday position.
Key Responsibilities of a Technical Project Specialist:

Produce accurate and detailed quotations for bespoke and contractual AV projects, factoring in equipment, crew, logistics and commercial objectives
*
Support the sales team in early-stage project scoping, providing technical expertise to ensure solutions align with client requirements
*
Attend technical briefings and client meetings where required to clarify scope, advise on alternatives and support project conversion
*
Assist with tender responses including technical summaries, equipment justifications and alternative solutions
*
Ensure smooth project handover into operations, producing clear documentation including drawings, timelines and scope details
*
Review project outcomes to compare estimated vs actual costs, feeding insights into improved future quoting
*
Take ownership of the quoting system, maintaining accurate data, improving templates and ensuring best practice
*
Keep up to date with industry trends, new technologies and supplier developments to ensure accurate, competitive proposals
Key Skills of a Technical Project Specialist:

Proven technical background in AV, cabling, networking or live event production
*
Hands-on understanding of event or installation environments with the ability to translate practical set-up into accurate costing
*
Strong commercial awareness with the ability to scope projects in line with profit margins and operational capacity
*
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, confident working with clients, sales teams and technical crews
*
Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
*
Proficiency across Microsoft Office, with experience using quoting or CRM systems (InspHire or similar advantageous)
*
Process-driven with exceptional attention to detail
*
Calm and adaptable under pressure, maintaining accuracy in fast-paced settings
