Technical Operations Manager - Commercial & Refrigeration Services Full-Time | Leadership Role | HVACR Mechanical Division

We're seeking a Technical Operations Manager to lead our Commercial HVAC & Refrigeration Service Division - a commanding role for an individual with deep field experience, operational foresight, and a strategic mindset. This position sits at the center of service execution, technical consulting, and job performance, directly impacting client trust, revenue growth, and team excellence.

Position Summary:

The Technical Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of technical consultation, service solution development, and operational execution across our commercial HVAC and refrigeration portfolio. This is not a back-office role - it's for a proven professional who can walk into a mechanical room, speak confidently to a facility executive, and drive end-to-end outcomes through both leadership and field-tested expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead high-level technical consultations with commercial clients, offering strategic solutions for complex HVAC and refrigeration challenges.
  • Drive the diagnosis, scope development, and solution architecture for large repairs, system retrofits, and capital replacement opportunities.
  • Oversee job performance from consultation through execution, including part logistics, technician coordination, and customer communication.
  • Serve as the primary technical authority on large-scale service work, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and long-term performance.
  • Mentor and support field technicians on advanced diagnostics, best practices, and continuous improvement in service delivery.
  • This role will also support our sales process by helping prepare professional job proposals. The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between the field and sales teams, ensuring that the scope of work is clear, achievable, and customer-focused.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders - including service dispatch, project management, and leadership - to maintain alignment and efficiency.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients by providing trusted expertise, timely communication, and high-integrity recommendations.


Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in commercial HVAC and refrigeration service, with deep knowledge of mechanical systems and controls.
  • Demonstrated success in technical leadership, service consulting, or operations management.
  • Strong capability in parts logistics, job coordination, and technician mentorship.
  • Proven ability to navigate high-pressure service environments with professionalism, accuracy, and confidence.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills - able to earn trust and influence decisions at both the field and executive levels.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations, safety codes, and commercial mechanical compliance standards.
