Technical Operations Engineer\n\nWorking Pattern\n Hybrid working four days in the office and one day working from home\n\nRole Overview\n This is a service focused proactive Technical Operations role responsible for maintaining monitoring and continuously improving a distributed Internet of Things and automated parking environment. The role has ownership of system reliability uptime and infrastructure performance across multiple live operational sites.\n\nThe role suits someone comfortable working in a multi site operational environment with strong hands on experience in infrastructure networking and Internet of Things based systems.\n\nRole Responsibilities\n\n1 IoT and device infrastructure management\n\nMaintain monitor and optimise Internet of Things devices and hardware including cameras edge devices kiosks tablets and networking equipment\nManage deployment configuration and lifecycle of infrastructure across multiple sites\nEnsure system health connectivity and performance using monitoring tools\nCarry out preventative maintenance to reduce outages and improve reliability\nImprove operational efficiency through automation and process improvement2 System reliability performance and uptime\n\nMonitor uptime performance and service stability across all sites\nPerform root cause analysis after incidents and implement long term fixes\nWork with engineering teams and suppliers on recurring technical issues\nSupport system upgrades migrations deployments and new site onboarding3 Automated parking systems support\n\nSupport camera based recognition systems parking platforms payment systems and sensor driven devices\nTroubleshoot end to end system flows from hardware through to backend services and reporting\nWork with external partners to improve system performance and resilience4 Operational site support\n\nProvide hands on support for live operational environments\nIdentify and resolve infrastructure inefficiencies\nSupport technical delivery of new site rollouts and improvements\nProvide guidance and support to junior team members when required5 Asset inventory and deployment management\n\nManage procurement stock control and lifecycle planning of devices\nPrepare configure and track equipment for deployment\nMaintain accurate records of inventory spares and tools\nCoordinate logistics across teams suppliers and site locations \n\n6 Documentation compliance and administration\n\nMaintain configuration records network diagrams and onboarding documentation\nCreate standard operating procedures setup guides and troubleshooting documents\nManage tickets and change requests using standard service management tools\nSupport compliance with security data protection and device standardsExperience\n\nAt least 5 years experience in IT support infrastructure technical operations or field engineering\nExperience managing Internet of Things devices or distributed environments\nExperience working in multi site live operational settings\nExperience mentoring or supporting other team members is desirableTechnical Skills\n\nStrong networking knowledge including IP addressing virtual private networks and troubleshooting\nExperience with routers switches and firewalls\nStrong understanding of Windows operating systems and system diagnostics\nExperience with remote device management\nStrong root cause analysis skills\nGood documentation and asset management practices\nUnderstanding of endpoint security and device complianceDesirable Experience\n\nCamera based recognition systems\nEdge computing devices such as small form factor industrial computers\nParking systems or device management platforms\nCloud systems application programming interfaces and Microsoft 365 administration
