Overview

We are working with a well-established, high-performing food manufacturing site in the Lichfield area to recruit a Technical Manager. This is a senior, influential role within a stable operation that places strong emphasis on food safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

The site has a solid reputation for its standards, structure, and leadership approach. This opportunity would suit an experienced technical professional looking to step into a role where the technical function is respected, resourced, and central to decision-making.

Responsibilities

As Technical Manager, you will have full ownership of the site’s technical and quality agenda, including:

• Leading and developing the site Technical / QA team
• Ensuring full compliance with food safety, legality, and quality standards
• Managing and maintaining BRC / customer audit readiness and performance
• Acting as the key technical interface with customers, auditors, and regulatory bodies
• Driving continuous improvement across food safety culture, systems, and processes
• Overseeing HACCP, specifications, raw material approval, and change control
• Supporting the wider leadership team with technical insight and risk management

This is a hands-on leadership role with strategic influence.

Candidate Profile

We are keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:

• Proven experience in a Technical Manager or Senior Technical role within food manufacturing
• Strong working knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP, and retailer / customer standards
• Confident leadership style with the ability to engage cross-functionally
• A calm, structured approach to technical challenges
• Experience within fresh, chilled, or short-shelf-life environments
