Job Description

Job title Technical Manager\nResponsible to Managing Director\n\nGeneral responsibility Prepare subcontractor tender packages and manage tender returns, as well as conducting subcontractor tender analysis and making recommendations. Provide pre-contract bid and contract support, participate in prospective client pitch presentations, and assist in handing over construction documentation to the Construction Manager\n\nSpecific responsibilities\n\n• Reading Employer’s Requirements and other supporting documents for tenders\n• Take off drawings using Bluebeam software (training will be provided)\n• Sending out enquiries to subcontractors and collating quotes – carrying out\ncomparisons\n• Attending subcontractor meetings\n• Taking notes\n• Prequalifying new suppliers\n• Attending technical workshops and project meetings\n• Developing preconstruction programmes\n• Arranging meetings\n• Building Analyses and Property Evaluations\n• Assessing and interpreting client brief for works cost planning\n• Co-ordination of sub-contractors to survey site\n• Reviewing scope of work on site with sub-contractors in order to cost the works\n• Analysing and negotiating subcontractor tender returns and making recommendations to Technical Directors\n• Preparing specifications and estimating projects using Excel spreadsheet system\n• Preparing technical documentation for presentations to prospective clients\n• Formatting and managing pre-contract programme relating to bid and agreeing\nworks duration with contracts team\n• Planning applications and Building Control coordination and submissions\n• License to Alter submissions\n• Ensuring the highest standards of Health & Safety within the company, including\nadherence of all CDM requirements\n• Ensuring drawings are accurate and based on dimensional site surveys\n• Ensuring compliance to Building Regulations, Planning Regulations and Building\nControl Legislations\n• To comply with all company policies and procedures that relate to anti-bribery, quality, environment and health and safety\n\nSkills / experience required\n\n• Degree level qualification\n\nJob Description\nTechnical Manager\n\n• Experience of cost planning with skill set to value engineer a design\n• A commercial background and some experience of construction\n• Good presenter and listener\n• High self-motivation, enthusiasm and ambition\n• Desire to succeed with a positive can-do attitude\n• 1+ years industry experience\n• Basic knowledge of the JCT
