Job Title: Technical Manager (Ground Quality Endorsement)\n\nThe Role\n\nCapable in managing people, projects and to direct a team.\nSustains and improves client relationships.\nCompetent to review certain work of other professional staff.\nResponsible for managing the GQE Team within a region and ensuring an appropriate level of technical cover on all projects as required, including control of validation cost and time budgets.\nResponsible for obtaining all necessary regulatory approvals.\nResponsible for providing technical interpretation of information regarding a wide range of geotechnical and/ or geoenvironmental aspects.\nPrepares specific studies, reports, designs and specifications as required. Independently performs assignments, with supervision and guidance relating largely to overall objectives, critical issues and new concepts.\nManagement of the regional GQE team and promote/ develop the team within the Group.\nHelp and support the Engineers, ensuring they fully understand their role, requirements and project expectations.\nManagement of client portfolio, including ground improvement works.\nOverseeing geotechnical and geoenvironmental technical aspects of contracts.\nLiaison with and provision of technical advice/ assistance when required.\nCommunication with SRL Contracts Manager/ Site Manager throughout programmed works.\nProvide regular updates to Technical Director / Directors on works in progress.\nClient liaison, ranging from the presentation of outline proposals through to providing regular client updates throughout remediation works.\nLiaison and negotiation with regulators.\nAssist in preparation of quotes/ tenders for potential remediation projects.\nProject management of remediation support activities including the design, reporting and validation of remediation works.\nReviewing of factual and interpretive reports with a view to designing suitable and cost-effective remediation schemes.\nOversee specific validation cost and time budgets.\n\nExperience & Qualifications\n\nPreferabble Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or Geology\nIdeally of Chartered status\nProven direct experience of working on large earthworks projects / ground engineering.\nDirect experience in the design and construction of retaining walls
