Technical Manager\n\n£Competitive DOE + Benefits\n Trowbridge area, Wiltshire\n\nAre you an experienced Technical or Quality professional looking for a senior leadership role within a growing food manufacturing business?\n\nWe are recruiting for a Technical Manager to join an established and successful dairy products business based in Wiltshire. With more than 40 years of experience supplying customers worldwide, the company works in partnership with leading dairy manufacturers across the UK and Ireland and exports the majority of its products to international markets.\n\nReporting directly to the Managing Director and leading a small Technical team, you will take ownership of food safety, quality, compliance, supplier assurance and technical strategy across both manufactured and traded products.\n\nThis is a varied and hands-on role offering the opportunity to influence business performance, lead continuous improvement initiatives and play a key role in supporting future growth.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs Technical Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of food safety, quality and regulatory compliance across the business.\n\nKey responsibilities include:\n\nManaging and continuously improving the Quality Management System to maintain BRCGS and customer standards.\nLeading HACCP, TACCP and VACCP programmes across the business.\nActing as the site lead for food safety, quality and technical compliance.\nManaging supplier approval, supplier audits and the Supplier Assurance Programme.\nInvestigating customer complaints, non-conformances and quality issues, implementing robust corrective and preventative actions.\nSupporting new product development activities and ensuring products meet all legal and customer requirements.\nLeading, developing and mentoring the Technical team.\nManaging goods-in quality processes and laboratory analysis activities.\nBuilding strong relationships with customers, suppliers, auditors and regulatory bodies.\nDriving environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives.\nSupporting continuous improvement projects, including the development of ERP and quality systems.\nThis role offers excellent variety, from factory-based quality activities, audits and product trials through to customer engagement, supplier visits and strategic technical leadership.\n\nAbout You\n\nTo be successful, you will have:\n\nPrevious experience in a Technical Manager, Quality Manager or similar leadership role within food, drink or FMCG manufacturing.\nStrong working knowledge of BRCGS standards and food safety management systems.\nProven HACCP leadership experience.\nExperience managing customer audits, supplier approvals and quality investigations.\nExcellent leadership and communication skills.\nFood Technology Degree or equivalent qualification.\nStrong organisational and problem-solving abilities.\n\nHACCP qualification.\nExperience of ERP systems and process improvement projects.\nBenefits\n\nCompetitive salary dependent on experience.\nLife assurance (2x salary).\n25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays.\nChristmas and New Year shutdown.\nOpportunity to join a well-established and growing international food business.\nCommutable From\n\nBath, Chippenham, Devizes, Swindon, Trowbridge, Warminster and surrounding areas.\n\nSuitable Backgrounds\n\nTechnical Manager, Quality Manager, QA Manager, Technical Team Manager, Quality Systems Manager, Compliance Manager, Food Safety Manager, Technical Supervisor or Senior Quality professional within food, drink or FMCG manufacturing
