Position: Technical Machine Operator & Maintenance (permanent, full-time)
Department: Production
$28-$34 USD per hour
Reports To: Production Supervisor

The Technical Machine Operator plays a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation of our production equipment, contributing to product quality, safety, and uptime. This position is ideal for someone with technical aptitude, mechanical knowledge, and a hands-on approach to equipment care and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate should have some knowledge of mechatroinics background as a hobby or a certification from a community college or trades association.
Must be available to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends.
Main Responsibilities Include:
- Operate machinery in accordance with standard operating procedures and safety regulations
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs to ensure machinery runs efficiently
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve equipment issues to reduce downtime
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance, inspections, and repairs
- Communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and contractors to support smooth operations
- Coordinate with vendors and service professionals for facility and equipment maintenance needs
- Ensure all safety protocols and PPE requirements are followed at all times
- Contribute to a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment
- Support continuous improvement and quality initiatives to meet customer and production standards
- Assist other team members as needed and adapt to changing production requirements
Requirements:
- Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent, plus a specialized program (6 months to 1 year)
- 3–5 years of experience in a similar machine operator or technical maintenance role
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude; ability to read technical schematics
- Proven troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to lift and move equipment and parts as required
- Comfortable with medium physical activity for extended durations
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to team success and meet production goals
- Must have a strong commitment to safety, accuracy, and quality
