Job Title: Technical Engineer (Rolling Stock)
Location: Kent
Salary: £50-£55k+ benefits
Role Type; Permanent; Monday-Friday (flexible/hybrid working options available subject to business needs)
Are you a solution centred rolling stock engineer, with a talent in solving complex fleet maintainability and reliability problems? This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to fleet operations, through innovative engineering solutions.
The Role and About You:
You will be an experienced Engineer that is passionate about problem-solving. You will support the safe, reliable and efficient operations of a large fleet of Rolling Stock. In this position, you will be a key part of monitoring and maintaining the technical aspects of fleet performance, fault resolution and engineering assurance responsibilities. This is a great opportunity to drive real change.
The role will entail supporting day-to-day engineering activities across the fleet, working closely with the engineering &production teams and operational stakeholders. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining fleet reliability, fixing technical issues and providing support with continuous improvement initiatives.
This role gives you significant responsibility at the forefront of reliability and performance from day one.
Key responsibilities:
Supporting fleet reliability, availability and meeting performance targets.
Investigation and finding solutions to recurring technical and operation faults.
Engineering sign-off on certain activities within delegated authority.
Working alongside depot and maintenance teams to resolve in-time fleet issues.
Data analysis to identify trends and risks.
Supporting maintenance planning and engineering assurance processes.
Contributing to continuous improvement and safety initiatives.
About you:
Must have rolling stock experience in a reactive maintenance, technical support engineering, maintainability or reliability-focused role.
Qualified to HNC / Level 4 (or equivalent) in any engineering discipline.
Exceptional fault-finding and analytical skills.
Ability to work with technical data, systems and maintenance records.
Strong communication skills to work alongside multiple departments.
