Technical Design Engineer

Salary: £30,000–£35,000

I'm recruiting for a well-established engineering manufacturer looking to add a Junior Technical Design Engineer to their growing team. This role is ideal for someone with 2–3 years' industry experience who is looking to further develop their career within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Produce 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings using Autodesk Inventor.

\n

• Create and update engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs).

\n

• Work closely with production to ensure designs are suitable for manufacture.

\n

• Support design changes and continuous product improvements.

\n

• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver bespoke engineering solutions.

\n

\n

\n

Essential Skills & Experience

\n

\n
• 2–3 years' experience in a Design Engineer or CAD role.

\n

• Proficient in Autodesk Inventor (or similar Autodesk software).

\n

• Experience producing manufacturing drawings.

\n

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

\n

• Good communication and team-working abilities.

\n

Desirable

\n

\n
• Experience working with sheet metal design and fabrication.

\n

• Knowledge of Design for Manufacture (DFM).

\n

• Understanding of fabrication, welding or laser-cut components.

\n
