Location: Barnsley - Hybrid

Salary: £35,000 + Overtime + Benefits

Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 17:00

Job Purpose

To provide technical support in the review and production of technical and proposal documentation, from initial design through to project completion, supporting the successful delivery of power resilience projects in accordance with regulatory requirements and good practice guidelines.

What You'll Do

  • Evaluate technical proposals for standby power system designs and supplier submissions, ensuring alignment with project requirements, regulatory guidelines, and industry best practices.
  • Assist in the creation of detailed technical documentation for standby power systems (e.g. generators, UPS systems), including design specifications, commissioning procedures test results, and O&M’s.
  • Support the continued growth and development of EMCOR UK’s Technical & Design team through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovative problem-solving.
  • Assist the commercial and account management teams in producing bid submission documentation, addressing both technical and commercial elements in line with client specifications.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to review discrepancies, recommend improvements, and liaise with third-party suppliers to clarify or obtain additional information.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and value engineering exercises to optimise system performance and project outcomes.
  • Provide clear, concise feedback and justifications when reviewing third-party submissions, including recommendations for design approval or rejection.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all reviewed submissions, including vendor correspondence, approvals, and any agreed modifications or revisions

Who You'll Be

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of project cost and value drivers
  • Excellent analytical skills and a solutions-focused mindset.
  • Full UK driving licence – essential
  • Experience with AutoCAD , but not essential.
