Job Description
We are seeking a team member with strong technical experience to support an advanced sensing program as well as a breadth of applied technical projects at DARPA in Arlington, VA.
As a Technical Advisor/Program Lead, you will provide project oversight, while relying on your experience to provide insight, guidance, technical direction, test coordination and transition to research projects. You will coordinate meetings, assess performer technical progress, project performer outcomes, and ensure that project management best practices are followed by performers, independent verification and validation (IV&V) team members and collaborators.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics and/or physics with a strong interest in sensing technologies. Prior experience with Department of Defense applications, testing, experimentation, and transition is highly desired.
100% onsite with flexible work schedule through occasional remote telework and/or alternative work schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead periodic performer assessments to analyze program, technical, and schedule risks; develop risk mitigation strategies; communicate findings to program manager.
- Coordinate testing activities and test team.
- Evaluate and guide technical reports, briefings, and other performer communications.
- Engage stakeholders and collaborators across the various DoD agencies and services.
- Shape and oversee early operational analysis.
- Assert program control, including development of technical analyses, identification of technology gaps, technical risk management, project cost estimation, technology transfer efforts, as well as supporting technical reviews.
- Prepare DARPA work products, including presentations and reports.
- Attend and organize program reviews/site visits/field tests.
Basic Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience with multidisciplinary research and development for Department of Defense applications of high assurance autonomous systems including trustworthy artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML); deep neural networks; human-machine teaming; cryptography and multi-level security; and full stack architectural development.
- Background in multi-domain warfare including experience with surface, sub-surface, air, ground, and space applications.
- Familiarity with the DARPA technical, programmatic, and contractual environment.
- Ability to quickly learn unfamiliar areas as needed to broadly support program goals.

- Active Secret with ability to obtain TS with SCI Access
Experience:
- 10 or more years experience in project management in a research environment, preferably as a project lead
- Active TS/SCI or TS with ability to obtain SCI Access
- Prior experience working programs at DARPA as a technical or program management support contractor.
- Knowledge of DARPA processes and procedures.
- Demonstrated program management expertise, preferably as a project lead.
- Expertise and strong interest in the above technical areas.
- Ability to quickly learn unfamiliar areas needed to broadly support program goals.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Project and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
- Self-starter who is willing to both take the lead and provide support in a team role in a complex, fast-paced, cross-disciplinary work environment.
- Strong organization skills with the ability to multi-task and respond to quick turn-around requests.
- Flexible and readily adaptable to change.
