Job DescriptionJob Description

An Associate Degree in Environmental Health, Criminal Justice, Corrections, or a related field with two (2) years of work experience in safety and/or security.
Training as a Safety or Security Officer may be substituted in lieu of educational requirements.
Must complete all required training listed in Exhibit 5-4 of the Policy Requirements Handbook within specified time frame.
NOTE: Desirable Qualifications: Designation as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) by the American Board of Certified Safety Professionals or possession of other applicable certification [i.e., designation as an Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or possession of the Safety Council's Advanced Safety Certificate (ASC)].
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Effective organizational skills
• Effective interpersonal skills
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES:
• A valid Regular Driver License is required.
• Must be certified or able to obtain certification in CPR and first aid.
