Job Summary:
The Chief Engineer is responsible for overseeing all maintenance, repair, and technical operations related to facilities, equipment, and infrastructure during audit-related deployments or events. This role ensures a safe, functional, and efficient environment for guests, staff, and audit teams in both fixed and mobile locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all engineering and maintenance operations, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general facility upkeep during task force assignments
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain essential systems to ensure uninterrupted operations at temporary or travel-based work sites
- Conduct routine inspections and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards
- Coordinate with vendors, service providers, and property contacts for complex repairs or specialized services
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activity, incident reports, equipment usage, and inventory tracking
- Provide hands-on support during emergency situations or last-minute issues, offering quick and safe resolutions
- Supervise and mentor junior engineering or maintenance staff if applicable, ensuring adherence to safety and performance standards
Qualifications:
- Strong technical knowledge of facility systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical operations
- Proven leadership and problem-solving abilities in fast-paced or mobile environments
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Proficiency in maintenance tools, systems, and software (placeholder: "familiarity with maintenance management systems")
- Working knowledge of health and safety codes and building regulations
