Task Force Chief Engineer in Fort Lauderdale

We are seeking a friendly and experienced Chief Engineer to join our team! As the Chief Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and infrastructure. You will oversee all aspects of maintenance and repair, as well as manage a small team of skilled technicians.

This is a hands-on position working closely alongside our Director of Engineering, and the team. Seeking an Engineering Supervisor who can assist with completing projects while also providing direction to the team on outstanding tasks.

The selected candidate will support the preventative maintenance program for guest rooms, ensure all open engineering tickets are completed in a timely manner, and assist with both guest-related concerns and back-of-house property issues. This role is very active and requires a significant amount of movement throughout the property.

What you’ll do:
-Oversee the day-to-day maintenance and repair activities of the property
-Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime
-Conduct regular inspections to identify any potential issues and take appropriate measures to address them
-Manage the procurement of necessary equipment, tools, and supplies
-Train and coach, the maintenance team to ensure high performance and productivity
-Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance schedules and ensure minimal disruption to guests
-Stay updated on relevant industry trends and best practices to continuously improve our engineering operations
The essentials:
-High School Diploma
-Demonstrated experience in a similar role, preferably in a hotel environment
-Strong knowledge of building systems, such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety
-Experience managing a team
-Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
-Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
-Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks
-Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information
