Project Systems Manager\nPermanent Opportunity\nSector : Consultancy (Environmental)\nLocation central London\nSalary £55,000 per annum\nWorking pattern Mon- Fri (hybrid working 1 day from home)\n\nOur client is a highly reputable, well-established environmental consultancy with a strong track record of delivering high-quality work across policy, strategy, design, and assessment. Collaboration is at the heart of how things are done, alongside a strong sense of integrity and shared purpose.\n\nThe Role\nThis is a key position within the business, focused on improving how projects are set up, managed, and reported through the organisation’s project systems.\n\nAs Project Systems Manager, you will take ownership of the project management platform\nDeltek Vantagepoint ensuring it is fully embedded across the business and actively supporting day-to-day project delivery. You’ll work closely with project managers, finance, and senior stakeholders to improve how information flows through the organisation, from project setup and financial tracking through to reporting and forecasting. A key part of your role will be ensuring data is accurate, systems are well structured, and teams have the insight they need to make confident decisions.\nThis is a hands-on role where systems, project delivery, and financial control come together in a meaningful way.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nTake ownership of the project management system, ensuring it is effectively configured, maintained, and embedded across the business\nAct as the main point of contact for users, providing support, guidance, and training where needed\nImprove how the system is used across the organisation, streamlining processes and strengthening reporting capability\nEnsure project data is accurate, consistent, and well controlled\nSupport robust project setup, ensuring financial structure, governance, and controls are in place from the outset\nWork closely with Project Managers to review budgets, WIP, invoicing, forecasts, and project performance\nSupport forecasting and reporting across live projects to improve visibility and decision-making\nOversee project finance processes and manage a small direct report\nWork with finance teams on cash flow, debt, and working capital reporting\nMaintain oversight of purchase order processes and internal controls\nContribute to wider system and operational improvements across the business\nProvide input into senior discussions where systems, data, or project performance are in focus\nSkills & Experience\n\nExperience working with project systems such as Deltek Vantagepoint or similar platforms\nInvolvement in system implementation, optimisation, or ongoing user support\nStrong understanding of project lifecycle management and financial project control\nExperience with project finance processes including budgeting, forecasting, WIP, and invoicing\nAdvanced Excel skills and confidence working with complex datasets\nAbility to turn data into clear, meaningful insight for decision-making\nComfortable working across systems, project delivery, and finance teams\nStrong attention to detail with a structured and methodical approach\nConfident communicator, able to engage and support stakeholders at all levels\nHighly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities\nExperience delivering training or supporting users would be beneficial\nUnderstanding of governance, controls, and compliance within project environments\nWe are looking for someone who naturally looks for ways to improve how things work.
