We are seeking an experienced Lead Systems Engineer to support advanced avionics systems, with a focus on Flight Management or Flight Guidance functions. This role is hands on and technical, supporting the full systems engineering lifecycle from requirements through integration, test, and verification.

You will work closely with hardware, software, and integration teams to ensure flight critical systems are designed, integrated, tested, and delivered in compliance with aerospace standards. Lab work, troubleshooting, and system level testing are a core part of this role.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in systems engineering within avionics
  • Experience with Flight Management Systems or Flight Guidance systems
  • Strong background in system integration, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Experience working with DOORS or DOORS NG for requirements management
  • Solid understanding of DO-178B/C and ARP-4754 development processes
  • Experience working in lab environments with real hardware

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field
  • Experience leading complex system integration efforts
  • Familiarity with Agile development in regulated environments
  • Experience with ARINC 429 and avionics interface debugging
  • Strong verification and validation background
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead systems engineering activities for avionics or embedded systems
  • Define, manage, and trace system and software requirements
  • Support system architecture, design, and integration of hardware and software
  • Execute and support system integration and testing on lab test benches
  • Lead or support system verification and validation activities
  • Develop and execute verification test plans and procedures
  • Troubleshoot system level issues and support root cause analysis
  • Ensure compliance with applicable certification and safety standards
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to cross functional engineering teams
