Systems Engineer\nSouthampton\n£45,000 - £55,000\nPermanent, Full-Time\n\nAre you an ambitious engineer looking for a fresh new challenge in systems engineering?\nDo you want to work across the full engineering lifecycle, contribute to innovative product development, and gain exposure to multidisciplinary engineering environments?\n\nMy client is seeking a motivated Systems Engineer to support the engineering management of their existing product portfolio, while also contributing to the development of new and innovative prototype systems.\n\nThis is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their career to develop core systems engineering skills within a collaborative and forward‑thinking team.\n\nAbout the Role\n\n The successful candidate will work with requirements capture, engineering documentation, system architecture support and integration activities. They will work closely with internal engineering teams, suppliers and partners to ensure smooth project delivery and effective system performance throughout development, testing and acceptance.\n\n This role offers broad exposure across mechanical, electrical, software and systems disciplines, making it ideal for someone who enjoys problem‑solving and hands‑on engineering challenges.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nAssist in capturing and documenting system requirements from stakeholders.\nSupport engineering teams through concept development, design and integration phases.\nContribute to interface definitions, architecture documentation and engineering records.\nSupport coordination of engineering activity across mechanical, electrical, software and systems teams.\nParticipate in verification, validation and acceptance testing for products and prototypes.\nProvide support with configuration management, change control and engineering governance.\nAssist in preparing technical documentation including specifications, test plans and design reviews.\nCollaborate with suppliers, partners, classification societies and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery. \nEssential Skills & Experience\n\nDegree, HND or equivalent in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical/Electronic, Software Engineering or related discipline.\nStrong analytical and problem‑solving capability.\nGood verbal communication skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.\nStrong written communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly.\nAbility to interpret engineering drawings, specifications or technical documentation.\nDesirable Skills\n\nExperience within Maritime, Autonomy, Defence or Robotics fields.\nFamiliarity with Systems Engineering concepts or lifecycle models.\nExperience contributing to multidisciplinary hardware/software projects.  \n\n Interested?
