WGI is searching for a Systems Engineer - Journeyman to support U.S. Southern Command on the SCITES II Contract in Doral, Florida. This position is contingent upon award of the USSOUTHCOM Cyber Information Technology Enterprise Services (SCITES II).
Responsibilities:
- Designs and develops technical solutions to address mission needs and user requirements
- Integrates diverse systems and technologies to create cohesive and functional solutions
- Analyzes system performance using telemetry data, operational metrics, and feedback
- Identifies trends, anticipates challenges, and proposes solutions to improve system reliability
- Maintains a thorough understanding of the operational environment and its unique demands
- Adapts engineering solutions to align with mission-critical workflows and constraints
- Collaborates with teams to address potential system issues before they escalate
- Presents actionable recommendations and Courses of Action (COAs) to resolve challenges and enhance performance
- Refines and optimizes system designs to maximize efficiency, resilience, and user satisfaction
- Proposes and implements innovative strategies to align systems with evolving mission requirements
Required:
- Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information System, Engineering or related field
- 4-9 years of systems engineering or systems administration experience in DoD or similar environments
- Experience with systems integration, configuration management, and lifecycle support
- Strong understanding of network architecture, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and enterprise system platforms (Windows/Linux)
- Knowledge of RMF, STIGs, and DoD cybersecurity practices
Desired:
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- Experience with scripting tools (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
- Familiarity with DoD-specific environments (e.g., SIPRNet, NIPRNet, DISA services).
- Experience with automation and orchestration tools (e.g., Ansible, SCCM/MECM, Puppet).
- Strong documentation, communication, and collaboration skills
- Microsoft 102, or VMware VCP
- ITIL v4 Foundations
Clearance:
- Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI
Certification:
- DoD 8570 Baseline & CE certifications are required for all positions and may vary slightly depending on the skillset required to perform the role
