It offers merchandise and content purchased for resale from vendors and those offered by third party sellers.

Job Description:

  • We are seeking a Systems Engineer III to design, develop, deploy, and support complex industrial controls and robotics workcell systems.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with PLC-based control systems, industrial networks, and integrated automation environments.
  • This role focuses on improving system throughput, reliability, and deployment efficiency across large-scale operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deploy controls systems for complex robotics and automation workcells.
  • Develop and maintain PLC and HMI applications, integrating components such as servo drives, barcode readers, remote sensors, and safety systems.
  • Commission systems using best practices and provide advanced troubleshooting for integrated automation environments.
  • Own system improvements to increase throughput, availability, quality, and deployment speed.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for internal teams and partner commissioning/support teams.
  • Define, collect, and analyze performance metrics to evaluate machine and system efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate controls systems with host and enterprise systems.

Top 3 Must-Have Skills:

  • Deep experience developing industrial controls systems, including PLC and HMI development and integration of drives, sensors, and automation components.
  • Proficiency in multiple IEC 61131-3 (e.g., Structured Text, Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagram).
  • Strong understanding of industrial networking and troubleshooting, including EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP, PROFIBUS, and PROFINET.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Programming experience in C, C++, or Java.
  • Familiarity with AWS technologies and cloud-connected systems.
  • Experience deploying or managing machines across large-scale, geographically distributed environments.

Background of a Successful Candidate:

  • A successful engineer in this role will:
  • Have a strong understanding of robotics workcells, including servo drives, industrial networks, safety systems, and host system integration.
  • Possess hands-on experience developing, commissioning, and troubleshooting complex integrated automation systems.
  • Be comfortable owning system design, deployment, and performance optimization end-to-end.
  • Demonstrate strong documentation practices and cross-team collaboration skills.
  • Have experience with controls-focused software development rather than pure application software development.

Leadership Principles (Most Important):

  • Deliver Results
  • Learn and Be Curious

Disqualifiers:

  • Candidates with primarily software application development backgrounds.
  • Less than 25% hands-on controls/PLC experience, as these profiles typically struggle with controls-focused coding and system integration.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
