Job Description
Alstom is the UK & Ireland’s leading supplier of new trains and train services, and a leading signalling and rail infrastructure provider. Alstom have built, or are building, just under 40% of the UK mainline train fleet; as well as the entire fleets in service with London Underground and Dublin Luas.\n\n We provide the widest range of smart solutions in the rail market, from innovative high-speed rolling stock, metros and trams to maintenance, modernisation, infrastructure and signalling.\n\n Employing 6000 people, we design and build trains at Derby, the UK’s largest train factory; and operate major sites at Widnes, Crewe, Ilford and Plymouth, and 30 train services depots across the UK and Ireland. \n\nYour future role\nTake on a new challenge and apply your engineering expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates.\n\nYou'll play a key role in delivering the subsystem documentation, including-Requirement Specification and Architecture Description (RSAD), Technical Purchase Specification (TPS), and Interface Control Document (ICD). \nDay-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (sourcing, suppliers, S&A Engineers, Interior Engineers, (Reliability,Availability & Maintainability)RAMS Engineers, and Validation Engineers), define and implement functional, performance, transverse, and train-level requirements for the dedicated subsystem, and much more."\n\nWe’ll look to you for:\n• Integrating the subsystem (PIS-passeneger information system),(CCTV-closed circuit televion) & (DOO- driver only operation) into the train, covering all aspects of the V-cycle.\n• Defining the interface for the dedicated subsystem.\n• Verifying the subsystem (focus on train level), including design reviews.\n• Managing the change and configuration management process for the subsystem on train level.\n• Controlling changes after design changes, including impact analysis.\n• Planning and following up on all activities linked to the subsystem.\n• Supporting sourcing, suppliers, S&A Engineers, Interior Engineers, RAMS Engineers, and Test & Validation Engineers.\n• Responsible for system related documentation, including test specifications and validation reports.\n• Providing inputs to the engineering team, sourcing, suppliers.\n• Ensuring the subsystem is seamlessly integrated into the overall train system.\n• Conducting investigation for in-service issues/failures.\n• Driving collaboration and communication across multidisciplinary teams.\n\nAll about you\nWe value passion and attitude over experience.
