Job Description
Job Title: System Engineer\nLocation: Edinburgh (1 day per week onsite)\nRemuneration: £600 per day (via Umbrella Company)\nContract Details: Temporary (6-month initial contract with strong potential for extension)\n\nResponsibilities:\nJoin our dynamic team as a System Engineer and showcase your skills in a fast-paced environment. Your expertise will be invaluable as you:\n\nManage and support core infrastructure systems with minimal supervision, ensuring optimal performance.\nOversee the configuration and administration of Windows Server 2022, keeping systems running smoothly.\nDesign, maintain, and troubleshoot Active Directory environments, including:- AD site design\n- Group Policy Management\n- AD security\n- Certificate services\n\nContribute to network operations, focusing on routing, DHCP, and DNS to maintain seamless connectivity.\nCreate and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation and efficient system administration.\nWork within an AWS Cloud environment, supporting key components like EC2, EFS, S3, and load balancers.\nCollaborate with colleagues and provide mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of growth and learning.\nCommunicate clearly and professionally in both written and verbal formats, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and engaged. \n\nRequired Skills & Experience:\nWe're looking for a passionate System Engineer with the following skills:\n\nStrong self-motivation and the ability to manage your workload independently.\nSolid understanding of networking principles, including routing, DHCP, and DNS.\nHands-on experience with Active Directory and Group Policy administration.\nProficient knowledge of Windows Server 2022.\nProven experience with PowerShell scripting to streamline processes.\nFamiliarity with AWS across core infrastructure components (EC2, EFS, S3, load balancing, security groups, etc.).\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills to tackle challenges head-on.\nExcellent communication abilities to interact effectively with stakeholders.
