Job Description
Job title: Systems Engineer (Digital Engineering)\n\nLocation: Reading/Hybrid (2-3 days per week on site) \n\nRate: £83 per hour inside ir35\n\nContract: 6 months+ \n\nSC security clearance is required for this role \n\nJob description:\n\nWe're looking for a Systems Engineer within Product Delivery for a client of mine who are a leading IT and engineering firm operating within the UK defence sector. You will own and evolve their System of Systems (SoS) digital engineering capability.\n\nResponsibilities: \n\nDeliver and continuously improve SoS toolchains (Cameo/UAF, SysML/UML, IBM DOORS NG, interface & configuration management, simulation and verification integration).\nDefine the reference architecture and technical baselines for multi-system digital solutions.\nCreate and manage a clear capability roadmap and backlog aligned to enterprise priorities.\nEnable full digital traceability from capability requirements → architecture → interfaces → analysis → verification → compliance evidence.\nDrive adoption of model-centric working - replacing document-based reviews with authoritative models.Expereince required: \n\n10+ years' experience delivering SoS / MBSE capabilities.\nStrong background in Aerospace, Defence or other regulated environments.\nDeep knowledge of:\nArchitecture modelling (UAF/DoDAF, SysML/UML)\nRequirements management (IBM DOORS NG)\nInterface & configuration management\nDigital Thread integration and traceability\nProven ability to lead complex, multi-partner technical delivery.\nConfident communicator who can align engineers, suppliers and senior stakeholders.Desirable: INCOSE CSEP/ESEP, SAFe/Agile, Product Line Engineering, assurance/safety case experience.\n\nIf you are interested in this role, please feel free to submit your CV
