Job Description Job Description Visium Resources has been asked to identify qualified candidates for this Systems Engineer position in Clayton, NC. A Systems Engineer is needed to support a site expansion project at site in Clayton, NC. The ideal candidate will provide Tier 1-2 operational support as part of a cross-functional IT Infrastructure team, as well as assist in the maintenance & administration of IT systems and network. The role will report to the IT Infrastructure Manager. Job Description: * Perform life-cycle system development tasks for IT network & infrastructure systems. * Operate infrastructure networks equipment/systems under FDA regulations & guidelines as they relate to computer-based information & automation systems . * Adhere to IT Networking / Systems Infrastructure policies & procedures . * Responsibility for implementing IT network security . * Coordinates activities of IT Networking/infrastructure/Application teams . * Maintain network/infrastructure documentation in accordance with federal & corporate requirements . Duties * Install, troubleshoot, diagnose & resolve issues with IT network devices (switches, routers, firewalls, WAPs, etc.) & infrastructure systems (Monitoring Tools, Network Management systems, etc.) * Hands-on setup & installation with hardware & software in server room (Microsoft / VMWare) * Operate infrastructure networks equipment/systems under FDA regulations & guidelines as they relate to computer-based information & automation systems * Provide tier 1-2 IT network support, including after-hours * Provide tier 1-2 server administration/support for onsite virtual servers * Provide tier 1 support of site ERP system, SAP, including iDOC monitoring, analysis, & resolution * Liaison between Site end users & HQ end user support for site ERP system, SAP * Provide ad-hoc production support & after-hours support to the site for IT related issues * Maintain network/infrastructure documentation in accordance with corporate requirements * Support backup/restore processes for manufacturing systems * Interacts with equipment & service vendors for troubleshooting, installation, improving reliability &/or efficiency purposes * Provide superior customer service Qualified candidates would have the following: * Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field from an accredited university required. * May consider an Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field from an accredited college and seven (7) years of experience implementing & administering networks in a medium to large enterprise environment and supporting Windows based virtual servers. * Certification in a networking infrastructure discipline (e.g. CCNA, CCNP) . * Specific knowledge of networking principles & concepts . * Troubleshoot, diagnose, resolve & document IT network devices (switches, routers, firewalls) & infrastructure systems (Monitoring Tools, Network Management systems, etc) . * Experience supporting Windows based virtual servers Company Description Visium Resources is an award-winning employment firm with a mission to match talented individuals with highly successful organizations.
