NBCU Local is reimagining storytelling for the next of local news watchers, delivering local content to English and Spanish-speaking audiences in 31 U.S. TV markets and Puerto Rico. We are comprised of NBC Owned Television Stations, NBC Sports Regional Networks and Telemundo Station Group – plus multicast networks COZI TV and TeleXitos, regional cable news network NECN, and 16 free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channels – including 11 NBC local news, four Telemundo regional news channels.
The NBCU Local Technology & Operations organization provides the Technology & Workflow Solutions, Support, Media Operations, Production, Studio and Facilities services that power NBCU Local content creation and distribution.
Job Description
We are looking for a Systems Engineer to join the Technology team in Chicago, supporting NBC and Telemundo Chicago. As a Systems Engineer, you will be primarily responsible for implementing and supporting technology and users within our mission critical, media production and enterprise IT environment. Job Responsibilities:
- Gather requirements, plan, and implement technical and workflow solutions for News, Production, and Creative Services partners.
- Administration of media production applications, systems and infrastructure, ensuring reliability of technology and operations.
- Develop and maintain system documentation for operational and troubleshooting purposes.
- Provide technical support, incident response, and customer communication.
- Ensure compliance with NBCUniversal cyber security policies and standards.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Required onsite. This position is required to be performed full time onsite from an NBCUniversal designated work site.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, radio, television & film, related fields or equivalent experience.
Skills & Experience we are looking for:
- Support of mid to major market news or live event production operations & 24x7 mission critical technology facilities.
- Expertise in planning, implementation and support of media technology including SDI, NDI and ST-2110 video infrastructures, contribution & distribution encoding, live production systems, news gathering tools, NRCS, NLE, media asset management, and transmission systems.
- Expertise in core IT fundamentals including administration of physical / virtualized / cloud compute & storage, networking, domain & management.
- History of successfully leading complex projects resulting in satisfied stakeholders.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Salary range: 80k-110k
