JOB TITLE: Systems Engineer

COMPENSATION: $140,000 - $165,000/yr

Role Summary:
The Systems Engineer will play a key role in the design, integration, and optimization of Clarapath’s advanced electro-mechanical medical device, SectionStar™. This position is essential for driving cross-functional alignment, troubleshooting complex system-level issues, and ensuring seamless integration between hardware, software, and production workflows. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of systems engineering principles, a strong analytical mindset, and experience working within regulated environments. We’re looking for a collaborative team player who sees system-level design and development as a key competitive advantage in advancing medical device innovation.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain system-level architecture and requirements for SectionStar™
- Lead integration of electrical, mechanical, software, and firmware subsystems
- Translate customer and clinical requirements into clear, testable system specifications
- Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure smooth design transfer and system verification
- Identify and resolve system-level issues through root cause analysis and structured troubleshooting
- Manage interface definitions, risk analyses (ex: FMEA), and design documentation
- Support regulatory submissions by generating system-level documentation and participating in design reviews
- Drive continuous improvement through post-launch analysis and product iteration
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or cross-disciplinary product development
- Strong understanding of product lifecycle management, risk analysis, and V&V processes
- Hands-on approach to integration and problem solving; experience working closely with manufacturing and testing environments
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Experience in medical devices or regulated industries, a plus (FDA, ISO 13485, etc.)
- Familiarity with CAD, embedded systems, and control systems, a plus
