Metro Atlanta’s No.1 residential real estate firm is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our team! As a Systems Engineer specializing in management, cloud migration, and endpoint configuration, you will be responsible for auditing, optimizing, and migrating our core IT systems and driving operational excellence in our cloud transition. Your focus will be enabling secure, efficient, and scalable IT environments while minimizing user disruption and maximizing compliance.
Salary range: $105K-$135K commensurate with experience
Key Responsibilities:
Active Directory & Management:
- Perform detailed audits of Active Directory (AD), including OUs, groups, permission structures, and user accounts. Clean up and optimize legacy/inactive AD accounts and group policies. Manage synchronization tools (e.g., Azure AD Connect, CiraSync) between on-prem and Azure AD. Design and implement RBAC and optimize permission flows in AD/Azure AD. Collaborate with security/compliance teams to align with regulatory standards.
Cloud Infrastructure Planning & Deployment:
- Model and prepare Azure infrastructure for migration (e.g., storage accounts, file sync, Azure AD). Set up and manage cloud resources: Azure Files, Blob Storage, and other Azure services. Optimize cloud deployment for cost, security, and performance. Test and validate cloud environments and migration plans.
Migration Execution:
- Plan and execute phased migrations for file shares, user data, and mailboxes to Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange Online). Coordinate migration batches with minimal downtime. Ensure integrity of replication post-migration. Document and automate repeatable migration tasks.
Endpoint Management:
- Enroll devices in Microsoft Intune/ Kandji and configure device policies. Migrate GPOs to Intune. Implement Windows Autopilot for device provisioning. Integrate endpoint access with providers such as Okta. Test and troubleshoot secure endpoint connectivity.
Security & Compliance:
- Implement and maintain data integrity, secure access, and compliance policies during and post-migration. Develop backup and disaster recovery documentation. Assist in compliance review, documenting evidence for audit purposes.
Support, Documentation & Training:
- Create user/administrator training materials (e.g., materials for Exchange Online, OneDrive). Provide post-migration support to users and IT. Maintain comprehensive documentation for configurations, procedures, and migration plans. Collaborate with consultants, support, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment.
Leadership Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and project team members.
- Lead small project teams or task forces through phases of assessment, migration, and post-migration support.
- Act as a point of escalation for complex technical and project challenges.
- Communicate project status, risks, and recommendations clearly to management and stakeholders.
- Take ownership of delivery timelines, ensuring team accountability and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing within the IT team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience (minimum 2+ years) as a Systems Engineer or similar role.
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and Azure Active Directory.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 migrations.
- Skilled in management and synchronization tools (e.g., Azure AD Connect).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, and endpoint management. Direct experience with Exchange Online migrations and use of SharePoint/OneDrive.
- Strong understanding of security principles, compliance (GDPR, HIPAA), and risk management.
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Able communicator, comfortable interacting with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience developing technical training and end-user support documentation.
Skills:
- Experience with PowerShell and Scripting Automation. Ability to write, modify, and troubleshoot scripts to automate bulk migrations, user provisioning, or cloud configurations.
- Knowledge of Hybrid Scenarios. Experience with hybrid AD environments (integration, synchronization, and coexistence strategies)
- Experience with Backup and Disaster Recovery Solutions. Implementing and validating Azure Backup, Recovery Services Vault, or comparable tools in migration scenarios
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams or projects, mentor junior staff, and drive collaborative results (experience managing direct reports is a plus).
