The Systems Engineer will spend the bulk of their day onsite at our clients places of business addressing their IT issues. They are responsible for analysis, design and support of all physical infrastructure equipment and software related to the clients network and server/storage environments. The successful candidate will possess exceptional technical and interpersonal skills, be highly organized and motivated, have a positive attitude and enjoy being part of a dynamic team.

Responsibilities:


  • Designs system configuration, determines hardware, software and functional specifications, and performs system installations.
  • Provides advanced technical support, troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Manages and aids in project plan development and execution for server and network infrastructure upgrades.
  • Makes recommendations to clients regarding systems or procedural improvements.
  • Communicates with customers as required: keeping them informed of incident progress, following up on assigned tickets to closure.
  • Possesses a strong client focus with the ability to communicate technical concepts with clients across all knowledge levels in a positive, clear, and concise manner.
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of all tools and services in the Centaris stack.
  • Participates in on-call rotation.
  • Travels to client sites as needed.

Education and Experience:

Experience but not all necessary.

  • Bachelors degree, preferably in Computer Science, or Information Systems (or related degree/equivalent combination of work experience).
  • Professional IT certifications.
  • 7+ years of administrative support experience.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues involving:
    • Server applications such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS, group policies, etc.
    • Microsofts core business applications (Exchange, SQL, etc.) and operating systems (servers and desktops) as well as line of business applications.
  • Knowledge of remote access solutions including VPN, Terminal Services, and Citrix.
  • Experience with MS Azure, M365, and O365.
  • Experience with SharePoint and Teams.
  • Advanced technical support and the ability to troubleshoot at the network level: WAN and LAN connectivity, Layer 2/3 switching, routers, firewalls, and security.
  • Advanced understanding of operating systems, business applications, printing systems, and network systems.
  • Experience with VMware up to version 7.0
