About the Role
We are seeking a driven Systems Engineer to support the design, development, integration, and verification of complex systems. The selected candidate will contribute to the system lifecycle from concept through test and delivery, ensuring technical integrity and compliance with customer requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead or contribute to the development and decomposition of system-level requirements and interface definitions
- Define and maintain system architectures, allocation of functions, and system-level design documentation
- Collaborate cross-functionally with software, hardware, integration & test, and specialty engineering teams
- Develop and manage verification and validation (V&V) plans, and support test execution and analysis
- Support and participate in design and program milestone reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR)
- Conduct trade studies and technical risk assessments to guide system-level decision making
- Support interface control and configuration management activities
- Generate technical documentation and briefings for internal stakeholders and external customers
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM discipline
- 4–6 years of relevant experience as a Systems Engineer in the defense or aerospace industry
- Active DoD Secret Clearance required
- Demonstrated experience with requirements development, decomposition, and traceability
- Proficiency with tools such as CAMEO, DOORS, or similar
- Hands-on experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and SysML modeling (e.g., BDDs, IBDs, Activity Diagrams)
- Understanding of the DoD acquisition lifecycle, system verification, and AR 70-62 requirements
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills
Qualifications
- Experience working in DoD, aerospace, or highly regulated industries.
- Knowledge of SysML v2, UML, and scripting for automation and analysis.
- Experience with simulation tools and environments for system performance evaluation.
- Understanding of safety, reliability, and cybersecurity considerations in system design.
