Job Title: Systems Engineer

Location: Bristol

Pay Range/details: Circa £40,000 - £65,000 DOE + Excellent Benefits + Pension + Flexible Working – Choose your working hours!

Contract Type: Permanent

My client, who are the leading specialists across Europe in weapon systems and avionics are calling out for systems engineers of all specialisms to join their rapidly expanding engineering teams due to exponential growth within the defence industry.

Ideally, you will be degree educated within either Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Systems Engineering or Avionics and Aviation, but also welcome applications from other educational backgrounds, provided you have experience within a systems engineering role.

Due to the nature of the projects, you will need to be able to obtain valid UK security clearance if you are successful in your application.

Key Responsibilities – Systems Engineer

  • You will be conducting full lifecycle including systems design activities for various business functions including but not limited to, mission planning, future systems, airborne systems, RF systems.
  • You will provide key inputs to requirements capture, design freezes, system integration and testing through to full product verification and certification.
  • You will work closely with UK and French Systems and Software teams, as well as other parties to enable robust design and system validation and verification.

Qualifications & Requirements – Systems Engineer

  • Understanding of System Engineering Process is essential with recent experience in a systems engineering role ideally across the full lifecycle.
  • Experience in tools for Requirements Capture and Control (e.g., IBM DOORS) and Configuration Management essential.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively in a collaborative environment spanning several teams and locations is essential.
  • Experience of technical problem solving and a strong ability to think analytically.
  • General understanding of mission planning principles would be beneficial.
  • Engineering degree or equivalent.
