Pay Range: $47,000 - $52,000

REPORTS TO: Executive Director

LOCATION: SVC Office, 2021 East Hennepin Ave #418 Minneapolis

BENEFITS: 100% Employer paid: Medical, Dental, Life, Long-term and $700 towards dependents’ health coverage, 3% retirement contribution after 1st year

PTO Hours: Sick Leave (40), Vacation Time (120), Holidays (88)

On-Call Pay and Cell Phone Reimbursement

SHIFT: Typical shift 10 AM – 6 PM

The Violence Center is a public non-profit organization working in Carver, Hennepin, and Scott Counties. We support people impacted by violence through crisis intervention, case management, outreach, education, and systems change.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Support and coordinate the work of the SVC’s 3 Multidisciplinary Teams (60%):

  • Maintain communication with partner agencies participating in the teams
  • Ensure and promote participation for the entire Hennepin County service area
  • Ensure to protocol development process is provided for program staff and team members as necessary.
  • Annually review the mission statement of the Team and revise as needed.
  • Problem solve issues and mediate problems between people and/or agencies in partnership with SVC leadership, as needed.
  • Promote and offer opportunities to build cultural competency within the Teams
  • Schedule, organize and coordinate team activities such as meeting locations, minutes and new team member .
  • Integrate into the position the underlying philosophies of SVC’s advocacy services and anti-oppression work.
  • Work with Associate Director to develop a tool to determine the impact of the protocol on how assault victims are treated, including the impact of the protocol on the system.
  • Gather, compile, disseminate and maintain detailed records for project.
  • Prepare and promptly submit all necessary project reports and updates.
  • Coordinate with MNCASA’s Violence Justice Institute (SVJI), including participating in monthly Site Coordinators’ meeting

Build awareness of and respond to the demand for SVC direct service delivery in Hennepin County (25%):

  • Supporting SVC’s direct service delivery by providing services including but not limited to medical advocacy, crisis line, crisis intervention, support groups, case management, and outreach. The expected caseload is 5 – 7 participants.
  • Provide individual supervision to advocacy staff and convene team meetings, regarding service provision, case consultation, program effectiveness and overall agency business.
  • Supervising advocates that are a part of our systems change strategic direction.
  • Facilitate at least one support group each year.
  • Participate in supporting volunteers and interns.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Program Oversight and Supervision – 15%

  • Provide supervision to 3 direct reports.
  • Working collaboratively with the leadership team to advance the strategic direction of SVC.
  • Maintain working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the field of assault in order to enhance the effectiveness of the advocacy program.
  • Serve as a liaison with community partners, as directed by the Executive Director
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for medical advocacy and crisis hotline
  • Nurture and maintain a healthy work environment that encourages respect, equality, , and continuous professional improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director

Skills, Experience, and Characteristics:

  • Prior experience with legal advocacy such as filing HRO/OFP or court accompaniment, .
  • Prior experience facilitating multi-disciplinary task forces or teams.
  • Have a working knowledge of strategies and methods of support for victims/survivors of violence.
  • Must be able to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and marginalized communities.
  • A strong commitment to social justice and dismantling of all forms of oppression.
  • Flexible and adaptable to a fluid work environment
  • Team-oriented person who will foster a positive working environment.
  • Knowledge of community and criminal justice systems.
  • Prior experience with drafting documents, facilitation and public speaking skills.
