The Crosby Company is a family office responsible for wealth management and preservation for multiple branches and of a single family. The Crosby Company provides middle and back office services to various individual businesses including Curatorial, Foundations, Investments, Trust, Tax and Private Real Estate.

The Business Analyst team is a service provider to Crosby Company of New Hampshire (CCNH) and its business partners. The Systems Business Analyst works with our business partners and other IT team members to help identify how technology can be used to help solve business challenges. Team members have a broad understanding of subject areas throughout the business, maintain strong relationships with key business constituents, and strive to be seen as subject matter experts in the eye of their business partners.

The Systems Business Analyst plays a key role in the viability and delivery of solutions by completing tasks such as gathering requirements, estimating work effort, documenting process flows, identifying data needs, developing test plans, executing system tests and helping the business with related activities.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Tax Technology Product Ownership: As the primary tax technology point of contact for BTC Tax group
    1. Core Application Support – Provides analysis, configuration, and systems support for all current applications and processes
    2. Strategic Initiatives – Produces high quality project deliverables such as business requirements, functional requirements, data requirements, use cases, training documentation, and maintenance support documentation.
    3. Tax Data and Reporting – Enables data tools; integrations; and frameworks that enable tax reporting; analytics; modeling; and reconciliation capabilities for the business. Scope: (Accounting Systems; External Data Providers (K1 and W2) and Tax Platforms). Mature and automate current processes; increase speed and accuracy.
  • Actively participates in a mix of small to large sized projects concurrently alongside other Analysts or independently. Manage the process of identifying priority rankings for requirements and communicating that information to the PMO and the development teams. Coordinate flow of information to our business partners relative to the status of, or issues pertaining to, development.
  • Addresses business challenges with technology by applying knowledge of IT technologies and capabilities. Periodically review business process and system workflows. Identify and recommend process improvements where appropriate. These improvements may be automated or manual in nature.
  • Participates and aids in planning of test cycles by producing detailed test plans, test strategies, test scripts, test conditions.
  • Assist with production support issues when needed.
  • Assist in the overall adherence to external and internal policies, regulations, and procedures by assisting with the development of automated, systematically controlled processing as well as monitoring mechanisms and reporting tools for management.
  • Coordinate and/or provide training of all affected personnel for any system changes implemented. This may include creating documented training materials.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
  • 5+ years prior experience in systems / business analysis required.
  • Strong collaboration skills. Proficient in requirements elicitation and prioritization.
  • Proven expertise in acting as the liaison between the business and the development/delivery team.
  • Proficiency in conducting a methodical evaluation of system capabilities relative to business needs; ability to speak to the business but also translate to actionable technical specifications for the software development team.
  • Ability to articulate both business and technical needs as functional and non-functional user stories
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability in documenting uses cases, writing functional requirements, creating test plans and scripts.
  • Ability to support integrated and regression testing
  • Proactive and positive attitude, highly motivated and self-directed.
  • Ability to work in a team environment or independently.
  • Ability to engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously while demonstrating time management and organization.
  • Comfortable working independently, adapting to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines in a fast-paced environment and demonstrating leadership skills.
  • Keen attention to detail and complex problem-solving abilities from operational and technical perspectives
  • Expert written and oral communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact professionally with diverse groups, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Flexible and creative in developing new situations; strong issue identification and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in the Tax Accounting discipline is desirable.
