Systems Architect

We are seeking an experienced Systems Architect to lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performance system architectures in support of SAMHSA's mission. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud- technologies, DevOps, and enterprise system integration within federal environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define, design, and implement robust system architectures tailored to SAMHSA’s business and technical requirements.
• Lead architecture planning to ensure security, scalability, high availability, and system efficiency.
• Collaborate with technical teams to integrate legacy systems with modern infrastructure.
• Ensure architecture compliance with SAMHSA and federal standards for interoperability, privacy, and data protection.
• Provide architectural guidance on DevSecOps implementation, CI/CD processes, and cloud optimization.
• Document system architecture and maintain architectural artifacts for review and compliance.

Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in systems architecture and enterprise solutions design.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Azure.
• Proficient in containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
• Familiarity with Drupal-based web platforms and federal content management requirements.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitLab CI/CD.
• Knowledge of monitoring/logging tools, particularly Splunk.
• Strong understanding of security best practices, especially in a federal environment.

Qualifications:

• Experience working in or supporting federal agencies, especially HHS or SAMHSA.
• Understanding of federal compliance standards (e.g., FISMA, FedRAMP).
• Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, TOGAF)
