Akira is building a talent pipeline for a future Systems Administrator position. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and managing software, hardware, and networks. This is an excellent opportunity for IT professionals interested in potential future roles within a dynamic and innovative work environment.
Ideal candidates should be based in the DC Metro Area or willing to relocate.
Job Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain operating systems and applications.
Manage and monitor system performance to ensure availability and reliability.
Implement security measures, updates, and patches.
Troubleshoot system failures and provide technical support.
Maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions.
Collaborate with IT teams to improve system efficiencies and automation.
Document system processes and operational procedures.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 3 years of experience in system administration.
Proficiency with Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
Knowledge of networking principles and cybersecurity best practices.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Active DoD Security Clearance.
Additional Qualifications
Industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator).
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
Scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Python, or Bash) for automation.

Salary Range
$55,000 to $125,000
Akira’s pay range for this position considers various factors including skills, years of experience, training, licenses, certifications, market data, and internal equity. This estimate is a guideline and not a guarantee of salary. Compensation decisions are based on individual circumstances and organizational factors.
