Job DescriptionJob DescriptionGateSource HR is collaborating with a Key partner to hire a System Solutions/Sales Engineer to:
- Provide expert guidance on solution design, including system architecture, component selection, cost estimation, compliance checks, and preparation of bill of materials.
- Support commercial strategy by collaborating with sales to evaluate and address technical requirements that fall outside standard offerings.
- Create detailed and customized technical content for proposals, clearly articulating how the solution meets the client's needs.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and partners by offering strategic technical insight and becoming a trusted advisor.
- Perform on-site and remote product demos as needed to showcase system capabilities.
- Capture and document customer requirements that are not currently supported, and assist in aligning internal teams to evaluate feasibility.
- Participate in internal planning sessions with sales and engineering teams to ensure alignment of technical support with business goals.
- Establish and promote pre-sales methodologies and frameworks to improve efficiency and consistency in technical sales efforts.
- Deliver impactful technical presentations and live demonstrations tailored to audiences ranging from executive leadership to operational stakeholders.
Requirements
- A minimum of five years of hands-on experience with at least one of the following technology platforms: Motorola, Kenwood, L3Harris, EF Johnson, or Tait.
- In-depth knowledge of radio frequency (RF) systems, including both analog and digital (trunked and conventional) communications architectures.
- Familiarity with backhaul technologies, especially microwave transmission principles.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-centric approach to technology consulting.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated capability in managing multiple tasks and priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Comfortable with domestic travel commitments of up to 35%.
- Proficiency in preparing and delivering technical documentation, presentations, and diagrams.
- Competence in networking fundamentals and a working knowledge of IP-based systems.
- Exposure to security and compliance requirements related to Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems is considered beneficial.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Visio.
Education & Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field; equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Coursework or practical knowledge in RF engineering, circuit theory, and networking fundamentals is strongly .
- Familiarity with TCP/IP protocols, network architecture, and cybersecurity principles. Industry certifications such as CCNP or CISSP are a plus.
- Physical Requirements
- Must possess fine motor skills and visual acuity to correctly identify and install technical components.
- Requires physical mobility including walking, standing, crouching, kneeling, and reaching.
- May occasionally be required to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
- Vision capabilities must include close range, depth perception, and differentiation.
Working Conditions
- Approximately 35% travel via air and ground transportation is expected, often requiring overnight hotel stays.
- Work will frequently be performed at customer locations or field sites.
- Pre-employment background screening and drug testing are mandatory.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
