System Functional Design Engineer – RF Seekers

Location: Stevenage or Bristol (Hybrid)

Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 DOE

Security Clearance: Sole British or Dual (UK citizenship required)



Join a world-class team delivering cutting-edge RF Seeker technology to support defence capabilities across the UK and beyond. We’re hiring a System Functional Design Engineer to join the seeker systems design function, working on one of the most advanced seeker solutions in the defence industry.

This role sits at the heart of early development systems engineering and is ideal for engineers with experience in system design, architecture, and MBSE who want to see their work deployed in real-world, mission-critical environments. 



What You’ll Do

Define and manage system requirements from customer to subsystem level

Develop complex functional and physical architectures using MBSE tools

Work closely with missile systems teams to understand and negotiate requirements

Support the verification and validation lifecycle of cutting-edge RF Seeker systems

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the UK and internationally✅ What You’ll Need

Strong background in Systems Engineering and requirements management

Proficiency in SysML/ARCADIA or other MBSE methodologies

Experience using tools like DOORS, Rhapsody, Capella or equivalent

Exposure to RF, radar, control systems, or digital signal processing (desirable)

Ability to work cross-functionally with customers and technical teams Why Apply?
