Job DescriptionJob Description

About Us
Creodent is a leading precision manufacturer at the forefront of the medical device industry, with a specific focus on high-precision dental implants and components. We are committed to world-class quality, ISO 13485 standards, and investing in our team. We are currently seeking an expert leader to manage and grow our state-of-the-art Swiss CNC machining department.

The Opportunity
We are looking for a hands-on, metrics-driven SWISS CNC Department Operations Manager to lead our high-performing Swiss turning team. This is a critical "player-coach" role, requiring both deep technical expertise in Swiss-style machining for medical devices and proven leadership skills.

You will be responsible for the entire department's performance, including daily production, quality, on-time delivery, efficiency, and team development. The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert in Swiss CNC setup and programming who understands the unique demands of machining dental implants and components and is ready to mentor a team, optimize processes, and drive continuous improvement.

⚙️ Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Lead, manage, and mentor a team of Swiss CNC programmers, setup machinists, and operators. Manage scheduling, conduct performance reviews, and oversee training and development.
  • Production Management: Plan, schedule, and oversee departmental workflow to meet all production goals, ensuring parts are produced safely, to specification, on time, and within budget.
  • Technical Expertise & Troubleshooting: Serve as the department's technical expert. Troubleshoot complex setup, programming, and machining issues, particularly with the tight tolerances, thread forms, and unique geometries common to dental implants.
  • Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement (CI) initiatives. Analyze and optimize setups, cycle times, and tooling to reduce costs, increase OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), and ensure process capability (Cpk).
  • Quality Assurance: Uphold and enforce stringent ISO 13485 quality standards. Work closely with the Quality department to implement in-process inspection, validation (IQ/OQ/PQ), reduce scrap, and resolve any non-conformances using a formal CAPA process.
  • Resource Management: Manage tooling, material, and supply needs for the department. Coordinate with the Maintenance team to ensure all machines are on a preventative maintenance (PM) schedule.
  • Reporting & KPIs: Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, scrap rates, and efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills
Required (Must-Haves):

  • Minimum 7+ years of hands-on experience in a precision CNC machining environment.
  • Expert-level knowledge and direct experience with SWISS-style CNC lathes (e.g., , Star, Tsugami). This is non-negotiable.
  • Proven proficiency in complex machine setups, tool-ups, and G-code programming of Swiss machines.
  • Direct experience machining medical device components, specifically dental implants, abutments, or similar small, complex titanium parts.
  • Minimum 3+ years in a supervisory or management role within a CNC machining department.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Strong experience with a variety of metrology/inspection tools (e.g., CMM, optical comparators, vision systems).
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

(Nice-to-Haves):

  • Deep familiarity with ISO 13485 standards and FDA regulatory requirements for medical devices.
  • Expertise in machining titanium (Ti-6Al-4V), stainless steel, and other medical-grade alloys.
  • Experience with CAM software (e.g., PartMaker, Esprit).
  • Formal training in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
  • Experience working within an ERP/MRP system (e.g., E2, JobBOSS).

What We Offer

  • A competitive salary and performance-based bonus structure.
  • Comprehensive benefits package (Medical, Dental, Vision).
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Paid time off (PTO) and company holidays.
  • A stable, growing, and climate-controlled work environment with modern equipment.
