Survey Project Manager

Job Summary

Our firm is currently seeking an experienced Land Surveyor / Survey Department Manager to lead and coordinate field and office survey operations.  This role involves supervising crews and technicians, ensuring project accuracy, and maintaining high standards in land surveying practices. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple projects while fostering strong client and team relationships.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Oversee and schedule field crews and survey technicians
  • Review and interpret deeds, plats, titles, and legal documents
  • Approve property plats and assist with drafting deliverables
  • Ensure field data aligns with project scope and standards
  • Mentor junior staff and review their work for accuracy
  • Maintain client communication and support throughout projects
  • Assist with budgeting, scheduling, and project reporting

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience managing survey crews and projects
  • Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or (LSI) is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, and Trimble systems
  • Proficient in MS Office, Google Earth, and mapping software
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to work outdoors and walk project sites as needed
