Job Summary
BlazeMetrics is seeking a hands-on Supply Chain Manager to operate within our current systems while helping design and implement scalable, end-to-end supply chain systems for our next stage of growth. This role covers hands-on purchasing and inventory through supplier performance and analytics. We are seeking someone who takes initiative, adapts easily to new technology (including AI), and values learning and execution over historical processes or tenure. This role requires confident leadership grounded in collaboration and a growth-oriented mindset.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Play a key role in the implementation of a new ERP system in collaboration with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, and finance.
- Own purchasing, machine shop planning, inventory planning, demand planning, and working with sales for demand forecasting, applying best practices pragmatically as the business scales.
- Leverage AI, automation, and analytics—including in personal workflows—to improve execution speed, efficiency, accuracy, and visibility across supply chain operations.
- Design and implement effective purchasing, inventory, and receiving processes and controls.
- Work closely with engineering to gain deep knowledge of components, sub-assemblies, and final products.
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies, including make/buy analysis, supplier selection, negotiation, and contract terms.
- Support product ramp from new product introduction through low‑ to mid‑volume manufacturing (tens to hundreds of units)
- Monitor and mitigate supply chain risks through proactive planning, redundancy, and contingency strategies.
- Manage supplier relationships, drive performance accountability, resolve issues, and lead continuous improvement efforts.
- Evaluate and recommend emerging supply chain tools and technologies to enhance efficiency, visibility, and scalability.
- Support the quality team in building a supplier quality program, including receiving inspection and quality standards.
- Support exporting and logistics activities.

- End-to-end supply chain expertise, including sourcing, planning, inventory management, forecasting, logistics, and supplier performance.
- Hands-on experience implementing or managing ERP systems; ability to lead cross-functional system integration projects.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively across departments and with external partners.
- Ability to collaborate with engineering teams and understand technical specifications of parts, sub-assemblies, and finished products.
- Strong skills in supplier selection, negotiation, contract management, and performance monitoring; experience with make/buy analysis and cost optimization.
- Experience leading change initiatives, including system adoption, training, and stakeholder alignment.
- Proficiency in using data and analytics tools to drive decisions, improve forecasting accuracy, and optimize inventory levels.
- Familiarity with emerging supply chain technologies and trends; ability to evaluate and recommend tools that enhance visibility and efficiency.
- Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to lead initiatives from concept to execution while managing timelines and resources.
- Knowledge of supplier quality standards, inspection processes, and regulatory compliance related to importing/exporting and manufacturing.
- Knowledge of international trade regulations and global logistics
Education and Experience
- Related experience or a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain management, or a related field
- Proven experience (minimum 5+ years) in sourcing, procurement, supply chain management, and logistics, preferably in a hardware product development and manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated hands-on experience building, improving, and operating supply chain processes and systems.
- Experience defining and implementing data driven process improvements with measurable results.
- Experience driving end-to-end delivery, owning outcomes, and communicating results to senior leadership.
