Overview:
The Logistician II – Supply Chain Management Analyst supports shipboard readiness and end-to-end supply chain functions for Military Sealift Command (MSC) programs. The role provides technical logistics expertise across new construction and fleet sustainment environments, including equipment provisioning, configuration baseline management, maintenance support, sourcing, and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) documentation. Responsibilities include tracking safety/Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) APL/AEL configurations, MILSTRIP requisitioning, inventory analysis, material sourcing, and engineering-based logistics support to ensure sustained operational capability across supported platforms.
Functional Responsibilities:
The Logistician II is responsible for supporting shipboard readiness, material availability, and lifecycle logistics across new construction and fleet sustainment programs. This includes, maintaining readiness documentation, sourcing and procuring materials through DoD and Navy supply systems, and managing inventory postures for supported platforms. The role also provides technical logistics expertise in equipment provisioning, configuration baseline development, maintenance planning, and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) documentation. The Logistician II identifies and resolves equipment supportability issues, evaluates logistics risks, and contributes to improvements in processes, procedures, and contractual ILS requirements to ensure sustained operational capability for MSC ships.
Functional Responsibility:
- Material Support:
- Processing shipment requests for CBRN and ATFP materials
- Maintain accurate records of all required special materials on MSC ships
- Conduct material order submission, tracking, and expediting using DoD/Navy MILSTRIP requisition transactions
- Source materials from commercial and federal supply channels
- Manage inventory postures, reorder points, and stock levels for supported ships
- Ship Acquisition & Fleet Sustainment Logistics
- Support new construction programs by:
- Validating accuracy of installed system/equipment configuration baselines
- Ensuring material, equipment, and equipment are properly identified, procured, and fitted out to meet MSC maintenance philosophy, operational requirements, and endurance standards
- Verifying completeness and accuracy of technical data and maintenance documentation
- Supporting implementation and documentation of mandated logistics programs
- Assessing logistics support risks and developing mitigation strategies
- Recommending improvements to processes, procedures, and ILS requirements
- Support fleet sustainment efforts by:
- Developing, analyzing, and maintaining system/equipment configuration baselines
- Identifying, developing, and reviewing ILS documentation
- Managing allowance documents and analyzing inventory/supply postures for planned and unplanned maintenance
- Identifying, analyzing, and resolving equipment/part supportability issues
- Articulating logistics contractual requirements and reviewing support deliverables
- Assessing logistics support risks and recommending mitigation paths
- Recommending improvements to sustainment processes, procedures, and ILS requirements
- Verify IDs and manage access control processes for personnel and visitors.
- Assist with personnel security paperwork, ensuring accuracy and submission via e-APP or other methods.
- Support security trainings, briefings, and debriefings.

Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 4 years of demonstrated knowledge, expertise, and relevant experience providing material logistics support
- Proficient in MS Office products with an emphasis in MS Excel
- CBRN-D and ATFP experience
- Experience maintaining records of test results and material readiness
Qualifications:
- Equipment provisioning and allowance modeling to support preventative, corrective, and alteration-drive maintenance (Transportation Alterations, Machinery Alterations, etc.)
- Material sourcing from both commercial and federal sectors
- Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) elements tied to maintenance and sustainment
- DoD/Navy supply chain systems and MILSTRIP transactions
- Prior experience in a DoD cleared facility.
