Supply Chain Planner I (Contractor)
We are looking for a talented and highly motivated, Planner to join our Specialty Products Supply Chain team in our Monroeville, PA facility for the next 3 months. This person will be assigned to support activities for both Raw Material (RM) and Finished Good (FG) inventory planning for our US manufacturing sites.
The role will receive training, daily assignments, and work on special projects assigned from Senior Planner or Supply Chain Director. The Supply Chain Planner will help support and drive critical processes within the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) framework, including close collaboration with Demand Planning to align sales forecasts, coordination with Operations to optimize productivity and scheduling, continuous monitoring of capacity utilization, and execution of scenario planning to assess the impact of surge volumes or planned downtime.
RM planning will focus on the procurement and inventory management of raw materials, and some collaboration with Procurement team. FG planning will focus on setting monthly production targets (PSO) and creating inventory plans and estimates within IBP software and maintaining system planning parameters for your assigned product lines.
Key responsibilities:
RM Planning
• Place Purchase orders with vendors and track deliveries throughout the ordering cycle and evaluate inventory projections over a rolling 12-month period.
• Analyze MRP and/or action messages for procurement of supply chain requirements with the focus being short to medium term (? 6 months).
• Communicate and escalate any supply concerns directly to supervisor and collaborate with supply chain operations team, and/or Procurement from discovery through resolution.
• Ensure the availability of raw materials to meet SAP timing requirements and production schedule
• Work with the warehouse, purchasing, or supplier quality teams to resolve receipt and/or invoicing related problems or incoming RM quality issues.
• Responsible for maintaining assigned Raw Material items’ inventory health to achieve goals.
FG Supply Planning
• Create and manage a supply plan in IBP/SAP to balance supply and demand 12 months out.
• Review demand forecast and production output changes for potential impact to your inventory planning responsibilities and adjust supply plans accordingly.
• Responsible for maintaining assigned Finished Goods items’ inventory health to achieve goals.
• Active contributor in monthly SIOP Supply Review and Rough-Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) driving actions to meet demand and escalate all critical supply gaps.
• Evaluate and maintain system planning parameters adhering to review cycle process.
• Engage in improvement projects aimed at delivering supply chain related cost or efficiency savings.
• Follow-up with Operations team to fix inventory inaccuracies with physical and system inventories.
• Conduct regular reviews of inventory data, identifying slow moving, obsolete/excess inventory and propose corrective actions.
• Help manage supply plans and/or purchase orders to support new product launches, trials, transfers, and buildouts (phase-outs).
• Perform all other Supply Chain-related duties as required to support the changing needs of the business.
What we are looking for:
• Supply Chain Entry Level or Supply Chain/ Operations Professional with some experience as a Planner or Buyer
• Must be willing to work 5 days a week in the office.
• BS/BA in Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or related field
• Ability to learn and be proficient in SAP and IBP planning systems
• Advanced Excel Skills (Pivot tables, Vlookups) is highly recommended
• Experience with Business Intelligence Tools (MS Power BI), AI Tools, or SQL applications is a plus
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
• Ability to interface and collaborate with plant and corporate personnel at various levels
