Supplier Quality Engineer (Body/Exterior Components)

Responsibility for body and exterior parts (molded plastic, painted/plated plastics, and steel parts, along with lighting components).

7:30-4:30PM; Hybrid (3 days in-office)

This team is responsible for monitoring the supplier's performance and compliance to requirements. When there are quality issues, we monitor the supplier's progress in resolving these issues and providing support where needed. We also go on site and assess their quality and systems to identify gaps and make recommendations for improvement. We currently have programs in launch and production. Someone that has experience with injection molding, painting, etc. will fit this role.

The typical day to day for someone in this role would be to monitor dashboard- this measures all supplier metrics and this should be the first thing that they are doing in the morning, making sure there is nothing past due and looking to see what is coming in the next 2 weeks. From there they reach out to suppliers, ensure suppliers are working towards deliverables. They will schedule recurring calls with the supplier to make sure they are aware of what is coming at them and again, ensuring suppliers are working for resolutions. They also may need to travel. This won't be every day, but there are a lot of days they may be traveling. They will also be documenting all – big part of role.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related technical field required.
• Master’s degree in Business Administration or Engineering
• Technical and Quality Certifications
• 5-7 years of experience required
