What You Will Do

  • Directs and supervises staff including: scheduling, mentoring, coaching, counseling and performance reviews.
  • Oversees day-to-day unit activities including: patient scheduling; procurement of supplies/equipment; unit space –environment; relationships with other staff, physicians, departments, etc
  • Follows up with patients concerns and coordinates with and assists Rehab manager with Root Cause Analysis & problem solving
  • Provides patient care at Staff Therapist level as required and as directed
  • Build and ensures an on going strong team.
  • Supervises rehab activities including: patient assignments, scheduling, ,
  • responds to patient and or physician inquires, feedback, satisfaction,
  • Appropriate working knowledge of UH systems and software programs
  • Monitors patient and staff across programs, sites, including inpatient, outpatient and home care
  • Responsible for the integration and compliance of systeml policies, procedures, Joint Commission standards, practice issues, corporate integrity, hospital, rehab initiatives, billing practices, throughout the various practice settings, etc.
  • Collaborates and develops with accounting team and finance department, in budget planning and on-going monitoring.
  • Provides support and assistance to the Rehab Manager with planning, implementation of new programs, additional locations, business opportunities. Provides patient care at Staff Therapist level or above.
  • Peforms work related tasks as required

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate of an Accrediated Therapy program with a Bachelor’s degree with Master’s or Doctoral degree in PT, OT, ST (Required)

Work Experience

  • 2+ years of management experience in the healthcare field, previous home care management experience strongly () and
  • Inpatient/Outpatient experience () and
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience (Required) and
  • Demonstrated record of goal achievement (Required)

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Effective communication skills (Required proficiency)
  • Proven interpersonal and employee relations skills (Required proficiency)
  • Proven ability to organize, manage, grow a department (Required proficiency)

Licenses and Certifications

  • Speech Pathologist (SLP) in the State of Ohio - Physical, Occupational, or Speech Pathologist (Required)
