Position Overview
Supervisor - Power Distribution Design (Remote). The project supervisor will lead and supervise power distribution design teams for electric utility projects. The role is primarily remote, but new hires must attend a two‑week in‑person and training in Perrysburg, OH.
Responsibilities
Project Supervisors are responsible for one or more of the following areas on a specific project or program: functional performance, project reporting, and/or personnel performance. They demonstrate technical expertise and leadership, plan and accomplish project goals, and recommend process improvements.
Provides first‑level leadership: supervises and leads a team or functional activities daily.
Concurrently performs the work of those they supervise.
Provides support to key duties of the Project Manager and Project Engineer.
Assists in reviewing project procedures, specifications, and standards.
Works with the Project Engineer to set priorities for the team and coordinates work activities.
Provides cross‑functional representation.
Mentors team members in professional development.
Manages performance of team members, including annual performance reviews.
Provides input on disciplinary actions and adapts management to changing conditions.
Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or higher .
Experience:
3+ years in the electric utility industry required; prior supervisory or managerial experience strongly .
Advanced field, drafting, and/or design knowledge.
Identified leadership skills.
Familiar with basic personnel management concepts, practices, and procedures.
Strong technical knowledge and oral & written communication skills.
Ability to develop plans, organize work, monitor progress, and meet targets.
Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork ability.
Basic financial management skills.
Ability to learn and operate customer‑based proprietary software.
Available during core work hours 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time; evening or weekend work may be required.
Willing and able to travel as needed, including overnight travel.
Dependable transportation, valid driver’s license, and insurance.
Passes a background check, drug test, and driving record check.
Authorized to work in the United States.
Physical Requirements
Endure frequent, lengthy periods of sedentary work and prolonged sitting at a desk or vehicle.
Use a computer keyboard, monitor, and telephone for extended periods.
Perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data, transcribing notes, and viewing a computer terminal; must have near, distance, , peripheral, and depth vision.
Express ideas verbally and convey detailed spoken instructions accurately to others, often in a group setting.
Receive detailed information through oral communication.
