Position Summary
Independently execute machine maintenance department duties.
Position Responsibilities
Machine Maintenance
- Oversee all machine repair, rebuilding, and installation in buildings.
Supervise maintenance technicians
- Delegate work duties to staff, and teach apprentices.
Manager Plus System
- Use maintenance program to manage work requests and make work orders to send to maintenance technicians. Keep Asset files up to date on repairs.
New designs
- Build small equipment as needed.
Inventory
- Maintain software listed and cabinet inventory. Purchase repair and spare parts.
Machine Repair
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems with production machinery. Experience in dismantling and reassembly of equipment.
Machining
- Ability to design, build, grind, and repair machine parts to repair production equipment.
Safety- Lockout Tagout and Rigging experience
- Assure maintenance personnel follow all OSHA safety requirements when working on or moving equipment.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
- Tool Maker or Machinist certification with at least 5 years experience running a maintenance department.
- High energy level, self-starter good reasoning abilities and sound judgment.
- May be required to assist or otherwise instruct other personnel.
- Performs other duties as may be required.
- Attendance is an essential function of the job.
- Resourceful and well organized.
- Participative management style- advocate of team concept.
- Ability to establish credibility and be decisive
- Ability to recognize and support the organization’s preference and priorities.
- Results and people oriented, external and internal service orientated.
- Computer literate.
Physical Requirements
- Visual ability (corrected) to read directions and prints and to inspect parts closely to ensure that they meet specifications.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate machinery for precision work.
- Physical ability to do work requiring frequent stooping and bending.
- Ability to lift up to 35lbs unassisted
