Summary: Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in fabrication and assembly of structural, ornamental, or sheet metal products by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Supervises the daily fabrication of heavy steel assemblies to meet production schedules as directed by the Plant Manager and shop orders processed by Engineering.

Coordinates receipt of parts or material required to meet production goals.

Explains company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.

Studies production schedules, evaluates status of jobs in progress and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.

Assigns duties which match skill levels, part availability, production levels and produce quality products.

Adjusts assignments as needed during production hours.

Recommends measures and enforces standards to produce a quality product on time.

Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers.

Assists in training employees.

Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.

Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.

Reports and proposes innovations or solutions for fabrication problems to Plant Manager and Engineering.

Documents and notifies workers of disciplinary actions according to company policy and procedures.

Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.

Reports machine and equipment malfunctions to Maintenance according to procedures established by Austin Engineering.

Maintains time and production records.

Accurately logs and records labor hours.

Assigns hours to applicable shop order for accurate billing.

Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.

Complies with all applicable safety guidelines at all times by correcting hazards, informing supervisor, or recommending guidance to co-worker(s) to avoid injury or damage to employees or equipment.

Complies with all applicable company policies.

Performs related work as required.


Monday - Thursday: 4:45 pm - 3:15 am
Friday: 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm
When required:
Saturday: 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm
