APEX Engineers, Inc. is seeking motivated civil/structural or architectural engineering students for our Summer Structural . Our interns don’t just “shadow” engineers—they dive into real project work from day one. The program mirrors the first 12 weeks of a full-time new graduate’s onboarding, giving interns a clear window into what it means to start a career in structural engineering. You’ll work alongside licensed engineers on active projects, gaining hands-on experience in design, analysis, and project coordination across a variety of building types including commercial, industrial, multifamily, and residential projects ranging from entry-level homes to high-end custom residences.

Requirements:

What We’re Looking For

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil/structural or architectural engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of junior-year coursework by start of ( courses: statics & dynamics, structural analysis, steel, concrete, soils, foundations).
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher .
  • Strong problem-solving skills, initiative, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Proficiency in Revit (primary) with working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Prior construction or design-related experience a plus.
  • This position requires the final candidate to successfully pass an E-Verify check

What You’ll Do

  • Contribute to structural analysis, design, and documentation under the guidance of project engineers.
  • Develop familiarity with building codes (IBC, IRC) and design standards.
  • Create and refine building models and drawings in Revit (AutoCAD exposure limited).
  • Perform structural calculations (e.g., steel, concrete, wood, masonry, wind, seismic) using tools such as RISA and Enercalc.
  • Coordinate with project teams to support construction document preparation and design reviews.
  • Communicate with project managers and team members to manage workload, timelines, and deliverables.

Technical Exposure You’ll Gain

  • Revit-based modeling and documentation.
  • Structural analysis software (RISA 2D/3D, Enercalc).
  • Application of IBC and IRC code provisions.
  • Multimaterial design: steel, concrete, masonry, wood.
  • Practical application of wind and seismic design concepts.
  • Professional consulting skills: client-service , project coordination, and workload management.
